TKNAIJA Cookie Policy
Version 1.0 · Effective 26 October 2026 · Last updated 26 October 2026
1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how TKNAIJA LTD ("TKNAIJA", "we") uses cookies and similar browser storage on tknaija.com and the TKNAIJA Marketplace.
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
2. What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Local storage and session storage are similar browser features that keep small pieces of information on your device.
We use them to keep the marketplace working, remember your choices and understand how the marketplace is used.
What we store and why
| Item | Purpose | Type | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-in session | Keeps you securely signed in and confirms which workspaces (shopper, vendor, rider, admin) you may open. | Strictly necessary | Until you sign out or the session expires |
| Shopping cart | Remembers the items, sizes and quantities in your cart. | Strictly necessary | Until you clear it or complete checkout |
| Delivery details | Remembers your delivery address, phone number and chosen carrier (TKNAIJA Riders or GIG Logistics) between cart and checkout. | Functional | Until you change or clear it |
| Navigation preferences | Remembers whether the workspace menu is expanded or collapsed. | Functional | Up to 7 days, or until cleared |
| Notification preferences | Remembers notification sound and volume settings and which notifications you have seen. | Functional | Until you change or clear it |
| Referral attribution (tk_aff) | A secure server-set cookie that links an eligible sign-up or order to the affiliate link you used. It cannot be read by page scripts. | Referral | The referral window set by TKNAIJA, counted from the click |
| Visit measurement | A random visitor and session identifier used for our own page-visit, store-visit and product-popularity reports. | First-party analytics | Until cleared |
3. Services we rely on
Paystack processes card and bank payments. When you pay, you are taken to Paystack, which may use its own cookies for security and fraud prevention under its own policy.
Map and address lookups help confirm delivery locations. GIG Logistics provides delivery quotes and tracking when you choose it as your carrier.
These providers handle information under their own privacy and cookie policies.
4. What we do not do
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, and we do not sell your browsing information.
If we introduce optional cookies that need your consent, we will update this policy and ask for your choice before using them.
5. Managing cookies
You can view, block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings (for example Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox).
Blocking or clearing strictly necessary storage will sign you out, empty your cart and may stop referral attribution from working.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the marketplace changes. The version and date at the top will show when it was last updated.
